Has anyone else had problems with UnrealIRCd when compiled with GCC 4.x?
It compiles fine, when when I try to link it to a server, it just dies, as described here:

Running - Unreal crashes as soon as I connect or link, using gcc 4 (eg: fedora core)

It is currently a known issue that GCC 4 (included in fedora core 4) can cause Unreal to crash or make it fail to compile.

It also currently unknown what the cause of this crash is, but we will be looking at this problem soon.

In the meantime (which can be quite a while), you are suggested to use GCC 3.x instead.

Has anyone found a solution for this, besides using GCC 3.x?

I (believe) it's fixed in CVS, although I may be wrong. Next time you might want to try posting on the Unreal forums (forums.unrealircd.com) as you may get a quicker response.

Have fun Smile
