Greetings!
I am in the process of building an online chat network. This network is not like any other network that has been established so far (to my knowledge). I have several ideas that I would like to have incorporated in the coding of the chat server's IRCd, however no other IRCd has what I am looking for.
As I do not have the knowledge, or skills, to create an IRCd and Chat Services of my own, I was led here to find good souls who are willing to do what they love to do, and that is to code.
If anyone is interested in helping me make my dreams come true, and building an IRCd (or even update an already existing IRCd) and/or IRC services, please contact me through Private Message or by sending me an e-mail. I work well with others, and am very professional, yet flexible. It is my goal and intention to establish and maintain this online network, allowing it to expand into a well established and well respected online community in good time. Please consider assisting me with this worthwhile cause.
Finally, if you do not have knowledge in either IRCds or chat services, but you do have website experience, I would really appreciate your assistance with helping me convert my html files to a more simple php template. Also, I could use some help integrating my services into my website, as well as news events (and possibly other ideas that we may collaborate on) into my website with php.

[Of course constructive criticism and questions are also welcome. However, it is my hope that at least a few of you would like to get in on the ground level of this new chat network and help it to take off.]

I noticed you are unveiling the CleanChat IRC Network Website on June 1. Did you have any luck finding the help you need?

Wow Mary,
You guys are really on top of things here!  I am hoping to unveil the website on June 1st. Whether or not that will happen will depend on whether or not I get all of my shtml files converted to php files. I did get a little tip on something, but I am still looking for some help regarding some questions with a header and footer include page that I am working with.
And as of right now, I am working long hours everyday, and haven't had a chance to see why my ircd keeps killing on me, but I should have it all figured out by the weekend.
Thanks for the check up. If you know of anyone who might be able to help, please refer them this way. Thanks!

I try... but then there are times I feel like the Sisyphus of IRC. ;-)
Getting the help of a good coder is one of the biggest challenges for an IRC network that wants to do something different. First off, coders are usually working obscenely long hours at their regular job. Secondly, those who do care to volunteer the hundreds of hours needed to create a unique IRC network are more likely to create their own vision, or join the coder-com of one of the larger nets. You CAN find a willing victi... um... volunteer, but it takes persistance, and luck.
Meanwhile, pop into #searchirc on irc.searchirc.org any evening. Jason and a few others who know ircd idle there and may be able to answer some of those questions.

At the moment, the CleanChat Network is looking for the following:
1. Web Design - They will oversee the development of http://www.cleanchat.net/ and will assist me in implimenting new and improved features for the website and its visitors. They will also be the team leader of the Web Design Team.
2. Services Coder - I have some great ideas and features for our IRC Services, but I lack the experience in coding. Therefore, with your help, CleanChat could break the chains and have some pretty dynamic services.
3. System Operator Staff - Help needed to run this network. I can't stay up all night long, so it helps when we have back up.
4. Users - Most IRC Networks can't function without 'em. :wink:
