I'd like to see a tutorials section added so that the "old guys/gals" can help the "new guys/gals" |

| Wouldn't this just be a duplication of existing content (e.g. irchelp.org)? |

| But irchelp is rather stale - maybe a wiki-based tutorial system would be fit? |

We are in the process of building the most detailed IRC help pages ever made:
http://searchirc.com/help.php?id=25
Some of the pages have been filled in, others are placeholders to give an idea of the future content. Clearly not all sections are filled in (e.g; channel modes only list around 6 items).
If anyone is interested in working on it, we can dole out access as needed. |

irchelp.org may keep upto date on content .. but the layout suggests things haven't changed since around 1995. Which is why I quit going there.
Also, think of it this way .. Do you think Chevrolet ever said "no we don't need to build a car .. Ford already does"?? |

I must admit I haven't really looked into the content on irchelp.org for some while - never really needed to. If it is in fact out of date, then by all means provide some more relevant docs.
Also, imho, Chevrolet may as well not have bothered. :) |

I snooped around irchelp.org lastnight a bit .. it appears that they do maintain it to some level. However, there is still alot of 1999/2000 dated articles with material thet really isn't "mainstream" anymore. The whole site is still very static and efnet biased.
Also I'm not thrilled to see a tutorial that's called "IRC Basic Commands" only to find it riddled with client specific command and help features. not to mention that the tutorial is so old that client specific commands listed don't even work any longer. |

| In that case I lend my support to the general consensus. |

And *we* get in trouble for taking threads off topic?
I'd be interested in having a go. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help. |
