What did you do!?!
Awwwww, you're in soo much trouble..
This thread is for your tales of spillage, messes, etc..
If you had a food mishap with your computer, post it here!
Here's mine--
It was a cold day in studio 2T. I was sitting there with a pepsi on my desk. I was using one pop can for an ash tray (i didnt have a real ash tray at the time) and one can for drinking. I put my cigarette in it and move it aside.. However, not enough to the side. I'm not paying attention, take a nice big swig and almost puke.. I drank the wrong pop! What made it worse, was spitting it all over my monitor! It gets worse.. I was so annoyed, I jump up to get a paper towel, bumping my desk and knocking over the REAL pop on my desk, all over my keyboard and mouse pad.. So I had pop on my monitor, the front of my computer, and all in my keyboard. I put that puppy in the dishwasher, and it still worked
I'm using the same keyboard.. Wow, that was an interesting day.. |

Well, in my place there have been two little "disasters" - though they didn't involve computers..
Here's the first. Started off as an ordinary school day. I wip out a couple Pop-Tarts for breakfast. Of course, I like 'em nice and warm so I plop them in the toaster.
Unbeknownst to me, the toaster was set at a very high setting. 30 minutes go by and I wonder why they weren't done. I look and see smoke emerging from the toaster. So I try ejecting the pop-tarts by forcing the lever, but that didn't shut it off... I had to unplug it. Well a few seconds later... they caught fire... and I didn't know what to do . Smoke alarms go off, my whole family wakes up. My dad gets a wet cloth from somewhere, puts it over the toaster, and hauls the whole thing outside.
The result: one really old 2-slot toaster got replaced with a new 4-slot one .
The moral: Don't put pop-tarts in toasters. Or at least, make sure the toaster is on low .
The second one was slightly more recent. My brother was filling up the dog's water bowl, and for some reason got distracted, leaving the facet on to fill up the bowl. Unfortunately, the bowl was just left on the counter. Evenutally it overflowed. No one even noticed it until I went downstairs later, and by that time, water was running off the counter and onto the floor! Probably took 30 minutes of mopping, towelling, etc to clean it all up, and worst of all - this happened late at night when almost everyone else was asleep . |

| Hmmmmmm, I think my worst one... I was at my neighbors house (who happens to be an IRC freak, and the admin at netroNET.. Well we used to chill over in his room playing medal of honor, always big into gaming. Id sit on his laptop while he played on his desktop. I was drinking one of his moms diet coke's... outcome of that was NOT good lol. I set it down, played the game a bit longer. Picked the can back up took a big swig.. (funny part now) i randomly out of no where just spit all that soda back up, all over his monitor/keyboard of the laptop... brand new laptop lol |

| I'd have to say so, he had to send it out to get the keyboard replaced, replaced the monitor while he was at it. |

Or, come DJ for us were hiring DJ's as of now. Schedule is being setup by my friend, were setting up our radio room out in his big shed, so we have plenty of room for our PC's/mics/mixers. + all the storage servers full of mp3's and the fast boxes for running broadcasters. Its all being relayed over a series of servers. 1 radio interconnects with another, going to another, so its a big mainstream thing. |

theres 1 problem, and another potential problem...
1) I don't have time...or stuff to do it with
2) I'm in New Zealand
if we solved both of those...then...sure... |

| Well, time could be a small problem, depending on the way our schedule will work. The equipement won't be hard. Mic (not necassary but good to have one) mp3's. the rest i can set ya up with . |

From IRC food mishaps to starting a radio station... anywho, good luck with ya radio dude (and if ya need any music, i have a bit you might like)
As for mishaps while irc'n, once spilt an ashtray onto my old comp's keyboard followed by the open bottle of soda the tray was balancing on (I had hit the soda with me elbow as i got up to make tea) |

| One time I was on IRC talking to a friend I hadn't talked to in a while. I was drinking a bottle of Coca Cola. As I'm typing, I drink the soda, and alternate. But then I did something really stupid. I started to type, with the soda bottle STILL in my hand! Before I could realize what happened the soda was gushing out of the bottle all into my keyboard. It still worked after the soda spilt into it, but not well. Luckily I had a spare keyboard and everything worked out. |

is Soda really food though? :p
I mean, 99% of people have probably spilt coffee / soda over their keyboard / computer part at some point, most just don't want to admit it. I destroyed a $200 kb with some coffee once.. |
