With SearchIRC (And IRCImages) growing, we've started to see some cpu load issues, which in turn has caused database issues.
Yesterday I put in some throttle code that I'm in the process of tweaking.. it appears to have limited the load issue to the point where the site appears to be running much smoother than before.
The throttle code was put on last night (March 15th). Please post here and let us know if you see any issues, and if the site is doing any better/worse.
JFYI - SearchIRC is getting about 260,000 page views a day, IRCImages is getting about 500,000. However IRCImages has barely 1/10th the unique visitors - they just change pages a lot. |

| I have still encountered some problems, around this morning 8-9am with the same error as usual php error blah could not connect to database something |

| I had problems connecting yesterady, can't remember exactly what times, and it only lasted a couple minutes. Keep up the good work Jason and team. |

| I also had a few problems regarding connectiong to the database (w/e that meant) -- Gave it an hour or two and all was sweet |

Yeah, got a MySQL error when I first tried to log into the forums, but a refresh fixed that, been fine with..
Also, I can't tell you if this is a browser issue or a database issue, but I've had issues logging into IRC quotes, it keeps giving me the cookie message. To log into IRC quotes, I have to log into the forum first, then go back and try to log into irc quotes, that seems to work most of the time. I use konqueror, which could be the blame buggy, but.. meh.. Thought I'd inform you in case it's related. |

i find if I'm logged into the forums, i have to log into quotes, see the error, hit back, log in again, and its fine...but by then i've been logged out of forums...
probably cookie/sessions issue...something i've been meaning to mention for a while.... |

| Sometimes when I try submitting the page won't even resolve, so I have to hit back then try to submit again, also got that phpBB database error. |
