| I started in about 98 i think it was, on dalnet, so about 7 yrs. I then started an irc network called BlueIRC, using Unreal, and IRC Services, which was takin down by packet kiddys, mind you i was a serious newb. At the time i hung out on dalnet, weaklinks [blah], and efnet, irc seemed a bit bigger back then though. |

When I first got online, I discovered IRC, however lost interest (being such a youngster) and basically didn't do chats for yonks
When NZ was cut off from MSN Chat on October 15 2003, I made IrCQNet (of all networks) my fav hangout. Nowadays I oper on about 2-3 networks and still go back to IrCQNet from time to time to help out in their newbies room.
Long live IRC!!!

I IRC since late 1989, it all began at my school
ITS was very unknown, and there was noone to talk to. sadly enough
I left IRC for a while then and returned in i think it was 1994.
i found out that IRC grew and never left again.
got my own server in 1997.
and i believe my first provider was uunet..
not quite sure about these times anymore thought |

I'm interested to know what client you used way back in '89, you must have been one of the first people to use IRC, that's pretty amazing. Are you Finnish?
I'm a relative n00b I think i started in 2000 and got my own little network in 2002. |

I came around on IRC when the first client was made called irclll or ircll or something
When they told me about that, ive tried it and gave it a try, However I could only access this thing from school back then.
I remember there were more servers then users, and the chats weren't really interesting, it was only about expanding stuff and well hell i know.. I was a little student back then, i wasnt interested in that stuff. lol.
and no im not finnish, I am dutch, but i spend my childyears there, and followed all my schools there also. |

this makes you one of the few that can claim to have been around in the early days of IRC. Be sure to remember that fact, you witnessed things that most of us can only wish we'd been around for |

Mustve been around 94/95 when I got into 3D graphics, and used Undernet's #3dwarez (cough cough).
Later on I founded a 3D graphics company and have bought all my software though! So I can still go to heaven.
Later on I moved to the channel mregit spoke about, and met up with Jason as well there, and IRC wasnt just about warez and talking about graphics anymore. And it only went downhill after that! |
