I'm new to the forum, but by the way, check out my username.. note the soup
Either way, i have done some pretty extreme dinners at my computer, and i have one messy keyboard to show for it. I have eaten sloppy joes at my computer, eaten a whole thanksgiving dinner at my pc, yadda.. most of the time, one hand is holding a sammich and the other is typing and mousing, what is j00r idea of an extreme irc dinner?
my L button has a ketchup stain that i cant get out
Either way, anyone care to comment? Someone has to have a good dinner they had at their pc.. for shoppy joes, i held the plate with one hand, the sammich with the other, and typed with my toes, although there were lots of typos, anyone else wanna comment on their extreme irc dinner? |

| Personally, the best food to eat by a computer is Kebab(dona) and chips, everything gets greasy super tastey and there will be grease on your keyboard for weeks, handy if your hungry again! :P . Don't mix laptops and vannila coke though! |

| I've eaten tons of food in front of my 'puter. Anythng goes, I say. From pasta to sushi. I'm always shaking crumbs out of my keyboard. Athough I never place any bevarages near my PC. It's a fact, tequila and keyboards don't mix well. :? |

| i dont know how well tequila mixes with everything, but an experiment based on extremely poor judgment has shown me that jack daniels does not work when substituted for water in ramen noodles. |

lol, no, but if u use hot sauce instead of water its really good and delicious..
boil ramen in hot sauce, drain (not completely) add flavor packet, and eat!
have a good magazine handy, you'll spend weeks on the toilet.. either way, its a great meal! I recommend "red hot" because it has a unique and distinct flavor, and its not too spicey.. the flavor is great..
bad food? Don't use milk instead of water in ramen.. i thought it would make it creamier.. mistake..
do not mix ramen and rice-a-roni.. they seem both good, but together they are nasty.
If you're really desperate, fill up a cup with ketchup, and use it forn chip dip.. it's kinda sickening... but its ok..
or for good food, dip chips into beans.. or put beans on hot dogs..
Ok, by my response, you're guessing im a tub of lard.. well, you're correct.. |

I love it when a couple of crackers discuss ramen like it's some sort of a fine wine. BTW, you can buy spicy ramen! Another thing, you can make creamy ramen! It is absolutely deeeelicious! ^_-
Speaking of the mini-fridges, I have 3 of them! Two are for the TVs and one for the 'puter! Each one is loaded with ice cold bottles of beer and soda as well as the occasional white zinfadel. The fridge next to my 'puter is always stocked with cheeses, deli-meats, lettuce, a tomato, as well as condiments and a bag of sliced bread... AND pudding... even though I don't like pudding, it's in there. How about that for IRCfoods! |

| I used to put a bowl of bread dough to rise on top of my big old 21" Mac monitor. PCs are too hot, but the Mac was just right. :) |

lol speaking of rising bread....
ok, not speaking of rising bread.. umm, yeah hot ramen.. As Amur said, they make hot ramen.. but they dont make good hot ramen!
The actual way to make it..
Add 2 packs of ramen to 4 cups of "redhot".. the flavorful but not too spicey hot sauce.. dont let the hotsauce bubble first, add the noodles cold. Put it on the stove at about medium to medium low, let it simmer.. perfect if u wanna get in another 15 minutes of chat.. After you pull it off the stove, the best thing to do first is to stick it in the freezer for 5 minutes.. Why? I dont know, but it makes a much more creamy product. Pull out the ramen, drain the excess juices, and put on the stove for another 2 minutes on medium high, stirring very often.. add your flavor packet right as you put it on the stove..
It amkes an excellent and amazingly flavorful ramen noodle type thing.. If u want some protein, fry up some ground (meat of your choice) and add it in with the flavor packet.. make sure it's pre-cooked.
I've done this a few times, and to be honest, i dont have it down to a science yet, but about half of the time it comes out perfect... those times, it's like i've died and gone to heaven.. ok maybe not that far but it's good. Also, if you want a more creamy base, mix in about a teaspoon of sour cream before you freeze it..
and another thing.. if you're an ircer on a diet.. or watching your weight.. heres a really wierd observation... Hellmen's fat free mayonnaise tastes just like craft "miracle whip".. I'm not watching my weight but i still use it because i seriously.. seriously.. and i love my miracle whip.. seriously cant tell the difference.. try it for yourself..
either way, another good and simple irc food is "chunky soup" stuff.. I don't mind unheated soup so i just pop the top, pull a spoon out of my desk drawer and have dinner.. although lately i've been leaving my pc to eat... i dont have any chunky soup handy, so i hafta make some condensed doup.. campbells.. ya know the deal..
either way, if you get crap in your keyboard, i read in my a+ certification computer book (yeah, i read a schoolbook in my free time, so what) that if you have somewhat pure water you can just stick your keyboard in the dishwasher.. the way to see if your water is good enough to do this is "if your faucet drips leave marks in your sink, chances are this would do more harm than good".. since i have well water i've done this many times.. but i still have ketchup stains on it.. o well, at least my shift button recovered from my pop spill..
ok, you get the point.. i think im just gonna shut up and go to bed now.. |

I want to speak about rising bread!
Well, no, I don't. I've never thought about using the PC for warming food... no wait, I have done that before....
Token, I don't know what brand of ramen you're eating, but there ARE good spicy ramen out there!
And another thing... there is no such thing as fat-free mayonaise! Cholestrol free maybe, but not fat free and miracle whip is not mayonaise, dammit! Besides, I'm more of a mustard person.. so it doesn't make any difference to me.
You have well water??? And you say it's good and "pure"??? Wow! I want some of your well water! Most well water contain a high level of heavy metals (iron) and calcium and other large cations. Unless you got some really great filtration system.
And man, you eat soup straight from the can? You are way hardcore. Even though this may be th 21st century, I'm still too afraid of botchulism to eat anything from the can... I'll have to be starving in a fall out shelter before I commit myself to eating straight from a can. I salute you!
Ahh yes, I would also like to make a comment on your spicy ramen, again, token. It sounds good. And do you want to know why it seems "creamier" after its been placed in the freezer? It's because the quick freezing process caused the fatty lipids to harden quicker than normal, making them come together in a particular fashion. Another words, think "coagulated fat". But seriously, it does sound yummie. I'll have to give it a try when I run out of the really GOOD spicy ramen. Oh yeah, also, if you're a vegetarian but still want protein, add tofu and/or mushrooms... or eggs if you eat eggs.
You know, I really enjoy eating canned sea food with a sliced up baquete and some nice room temperature brie or camembert and a nice chilled rose to complement everything. Thats what I find myself eating at my PC more often than anything else.
Ok... it's too late in the night or too early in the morning to contain my true geeky behavior... I better shut up.... before I get alienated here in the IRC food section! |
