I know you guys have a list-but would it be possible to enable outside avatars by upload?

Not a big deal, but I got one made for my DSLReports account and would like to use it here also Smile

How would I prevent someone from using porn avatars if they can link remotely? How can I prevent someone from linking to a NASA space .jpg that is 5 megs in size, at 12,000 x 12,000 resolution? :)

My utmost concern is that no one is able to cripple the site for others.

yaknow, there is a way to specify how big/small the max size of the avatar can be in order for a user to upload it...

The default size is 6144 Bytes, and max deminsions are 80x80.

Just a thought...

not to kill the mood, but in phpbbhacks.com, i reckon there is an avatar approval system.. so the mods can approve an avatar before it becomes displayed.. i dont know, the only phpbb hack i installed was to modify my post count on my forum Sad

either way, that would probobly be a waste of y00r time though.. i think i'll just e-mail mine if y00 shoot me the thumbs up...

i dont wanna just expect y00 to do it.. *crosses fingers*
