I am a oper to my network. And someone tried to be funny and put "DraginX_WorkingOut" (making fun of me) so I gave him a warning but he continued. So I decided to kline him. Well, I didn't hit tab twice and ended up klining myself. I tried looking through the configs to see anything about k-line and nothing good showed up. Sad And the other opers are hardly ever on.

I'm using Unreal version 3.2

Hope you guys can help Smile

So now you got a lesson to think before you type Smile

Possible ways:

1) Get another oper remove K-line (find them by ICQ or other way to communicate)

2) Connect from another host BNC/PROXY/ANOTHER ISP anything else...
and remove K-line (/unkline HOSTMASK , /stats k to find out)

3) If you have way to logon to shell
kill -1 ("ps x" to find out whats the pid is) - a way to run /rehash from shell (yes, /rehash does clean all temp K-lines set with /Kline); or just restart ircd from shell

some more yet not so simple alternatives follow...

Code:

killall -HUP <proccess-name>

The above works as well. So if the process name is 'ircd' then killall -HUP ircd

This will SIGHUP all processes that you own called ircd.

For #3 a simple: 'Just do " ./unreal rehash " from the shell' would simplify things =)

Would it not work to add an exception for *@127.0.0.1 in the config file?

killall is not in every UNIX-like operating system. For example, OpenBSD 3.5 doesn't have it.

[pomme@alsbox.mshome.net ~/]$ uname -a
OpenBSD alsbox.mshome.net 3.5 GENERIC#34 i386
[pomme@alsbox.mshome.net ~/]$ whereis killall
[pomme@alsbox.mshome.net ~/]$ killall -9 ircd
killall: Command not found.
[pomme@alsbox.mshome.net ~/]$

In openbsd it would be /usr/bin/pkill which in essance does the same thing.
