| Ok, so for those of you who have tried and failed miserably at "online dating", would anyone here give it a second go, or did your experience really kill the notion of online love existing? |

ahhh ok, fair enough! Gotta say though, I really admire those people who can stick it out and make it work....regardless of the negative opinions of others around them - like the two people you know.
Oh well, such is life - ya live, ya learn and you pay the consequences!... |

I have 2 mates in the UK that both have gf's in the US. One of 'em has had several gf's in the US, so it seemes to be working for him )or he's just trying to get a greencard into the US) |

I suppose one other q to ask in relation to "luv online" would be, do u think it's really "love" or more so infatuation with the person you're talking to?
I have my own idea on this, but just wanted to see what other ppl think! |

Depends on the people involved, as far as I am concerned. I don't like shallowness in myself or anyone else, so if and when I find "love" it generally isnt going to be some loose-set lust.
Again, just an opinion ;o |

and a very honest one at that!
I'm the same...and I think that's why I ended up falling for this person online...looks, appearance, faults, etc didn't matter....all that mattered was what we said to one another! And I spose that's the problem so many ppl have dating someone face to face in RL...everyone judges eachother upon appearances and don't take the time to talk to just anyone...we judge eachother first...
ahhh well, such is life....this quote seems to be my quote for the week! |

| To be honest, I don't care HOW you find love, as long as you find it. Its a good thing to have and definetly a good thing to feel. Until it gets thrown backwards on you, but yea, if i had too, i would date online. |

| Personally I dont find to many girls online that are single looking for relationships. No offense to IRC, but most girls today would rather chat on instant messaging or find people on myspace, etc. |

Bump. Another old thread up for discussion.
I find the girls on irc outweigh the girls on MSN, since IRC is more regarded as a geeky system than your average MSN'er. - If thats the kind of girl you are looking for of course. |

| I find that girls anywhere online are alright, just as long as they aren't hetero-bashing freaks with inferiority complexes. Those will kill a relationship in under a minute, stamp it to the ground and piss on the ashes. |

| I met my wife on IRC when I was doing an Internet radio show. EFnet isn't really a great place to meet chycks, but at least I got lucky. |
