You aren't getting many replies because there simply aren't many flash irc apps. Most are designed for commerical irc software, which intimately supports it.
Flash's socket implementation clearly wasnt designed for IRC in the first place. It uses XMLsockets, which can only read end-of-lines as \0. Having line terminators as \0 breaks C string handling (quite severely) which is why \0 is not valid in the IRC protcol.
So, even if you manage to get a flash irc app, you need an ircd that supports it, or some kind of bridge/gateway between the two. I think Inspircd is the only ircd that supports line character options (though I haven't tested it myself).
The app posted above uses a poorly written php gateway between the flash app and the irc server. I got it to work, but it's clearly a work in progress.
So, no one is ignoring you -- you just need to do the search yourself if you truly want this so badly. However, there is a reason java and cgi is more widely used -- flash is not an ideal medium for IRC. |

Yep that is right pingu, though I did download it and have the same conclusion as mentor... works just about, its rubbish and agree cgi and irc is a great combination, though php irc scripts work nice too. |
