Public IRC servers running Microsoft Exchange?

are there any? would be fun to know, i had no idea Exchange had an ircd until just recently

Exchange Chat Service isnt that nice compared to some of the alternatives.

Ive had experiance with Exchange Chat Service 5.5 and as far as i know the last version MS did was with Exchange 2000 and then they dropped it.

I suppose one of the pros it had was that anyone who knew VB could easily write plug ins for it.

One of my fav features in it though was the ability to have 3 different passwords for a channel, 1 for members, 1 which if used gives you ops in the channel and the third would give you owner status if used. All 3 were optional.

I hated how SysOp's got ops in every channel they joined so i wrote a plugin that simply turned off their usermode +o while they joined then turned it back on after and a seperate /opjoin command to allow joining without turning the +o off.

But to be honest i prefer some of the more main stream IRCd's instead.

There was an Microsoft Exchange Chat Service 6.0, but it is limited in comparison to 5.5.

The most notable addition was an ASP-based WebIRC client called "Microsoft Script Chat 6". It could be configured to only allow users on the Active Directory database to use the client as well.
