Quit being so cheap like me :p
If your running a network your bills should be around 30-120$ a month.

unless if its a big one | In NZ (I dont know about AU personally) there isn't really a market for IRCd hosts here, so those who do offer it aren't really concerned about being cheap |

well...
to me an ircd could start from 5$ (100 users)
10$ 300..
15$ 500....
and so on
so for a small network he doesnt need rally a big ircd, since it wont be populated. so a 5$ ircd could do the job.
you just saved 14$ |

most Aussie IRC networks I know, rely mostly upon servers in the United States (& United Kingdom)
3/4 Servers on URChat are based in different parts of the US
The other is in the middle east |

you could also host it yourself and it wouldnt be hard or bw consuming
Alcatraz.InxsIRC.Net /stats T

unknown commands 278328 prefixes 71
nick collisions 3 unknown closes 117999

auth successes 0 fails 0
local connections 0 udp packets 0

End of /STATS report

Notice incoming rate 0.00 kb/s - outgoing rate 0.00 kb/s and i have 500 users on that server alone, you can ultimatly just have it on your own pc but you would just need to leave the computer on 24/7 |

| MOVIEBOT - take a look at the other bits of statistics you've posted there, thats an awful lot of bandwidth used (well over half a gig, just for IRC) not to mention the amount of connection rejections, nick collisions and unknown closes... |

If you can afford 3,000-12,000 dollars a month in T1 or T3 you can host it yourself....
That doesn't include the set up charge
I checked up on a few companies and they charge around 350$-800$ just to set up your T1 or T3... |
