Well looks like I get to post here too...
I met my wife on irc. I first noticed her on UNdernet when I was just learning about irc. Joined some of the channels she was in like some stocker and even chatted with her. Things really didn't take off until one night when all we could get on was a local irc server provided by our ISP.
After that we chatted every day and finally met after a week.
Well thats about it, we have been married now for four years but together for all most seven.

I'm sorry to say that in my experiences there are a whole lotta really strange people on IRC in general. Now with this in mind I would include myself in that category as well. I have given up looking to meet more then just friends on IRC, as it seems trying to meet them in real life seems a lot more effective. |

| It's good that you found love, but it's the 'things you hear in the news' about wierdos that can put you off. Besides, I think love is best found in #real_life :) |

I agree, some people have issues on the internet, and some people claim they are god.. but dont opininate those who are on the net to find friendship as well as more because they do exist..

So did I. October 1995 we met. She was in the US, I was in the UK, within a year we married and we're still togther.
It does work, if you find the right person.
The truth is, if you look, you rarely find. Like in real life, the best relationships happen when people find each other and are not looking because they are not under pressure to perform.
In all the cases of people I know who met their partners on IRC and are happy (and I know quite a few) they were not looking for anyone, it just happened after they became friends. |

| Well I think its great for those who truely found there mate on IRC. In my past experience all i found on IRC were liars as far as the relationship department is concerned. |

If you're looking for children, you deserve to meet an FBI agent, in my opinion.
People that look for kids online are just sick, period. Lock em up, throw away the key as far as I'm concerned. |

I think anything's possible. You might find someone online, you might find someone in real life, you might never find someone. Only the future can tell .
Either way, it's different for everyone. You have to be lucky to meet the person you really like, either online or in real life .
