Hi there. I use to connect to Undernet via Miami server. But since some days ago Im unable to reach that server.
Neither can open www.undernet.org to look for more servers.
Any idea whats going on? |

i get timed out on the website too.
and it seems the round robin is down too. oh wait
Sterling.VA.US.UnderNet.org (66.197.0.145) <-- just connected to that |

Undernet's website is down and SearchIRC's freshness factor for their IRC network is at 92% at this writing. However, I just tried connecting from another SearchIRC address and got on immediately... so the good folks at Undernet must be working on whatever problems they have.
Perhaps Asmo could fill us in if he's watching our boards today. |

Undernet's website has been down for at least a week.
Someone told me in one of the help rooms that CService is in the process of relocating their website. However, I cannot confirm this by an Oper. |

Indeed I visit the site daily still, not just overly active ;)
Two isolated problems. I dunno exactly what the prob with the website is, something about an upgrade that is taking longer then expected (ha! doesnt that sound familiar? ;)).
And Miami has some problems on their own. Also, their routing might have been changed wich exlcudes some users from certain area's (now why would IRC servers need to do that? :)).
If you experience conenction probs and dunno what server to choose, just make use of the round robins, us.undernet.org or eu.undernet.org depending on where you are. That should always point you to a working IRC server. And you can even use irc.undernet.org, but that might end you upo with a server on the other side of the world which will add some lag...

Haha, OK, in theory that SHOULD work ;)
I guess the roundrobin also tries to forward you to miami... You can try: Mesa.AZ.US.Undernet.Org or Sterling.VA.US.Undernet.Org |
