Hey Folks
I have ran an irc server for a network for quite some time and am looking at the possibility of running a second daemon off a separate ip address. I have been actively involved in the IRC community for over 7 years and i have 4 years of irc admin experience. My server specs are as follows.

Hardware: Celeron 2GHZ
OS: Linux Debian 3.1
Volatile memory: 512 MB DDR RAM
Non-Volatile Memory: 40 gig maxtor at 7200 rpm
Bandwidth: Located in New York, USA with 1and1.com. Is allocated approx 6+ mbit up and approx 30 mbit down ( burstable )

The box is used for a small web hosting business. I'm a long time IRC advocate and simply am looking to expand into other IRC networks while keeping my existing server intact.
I will only consider very serious offers. Please private message me or reply to this post if anyone out there is interested.

I'm rather open, depends really on 1: If the channels in general will attract denial of service attacks and 2: the extent a given IRC network relies on warez to support it's user population.

I believe IRC should be an open medium, if that answers your question.

I dont have a preference on IRCD's, I'm familiar with 1.4 / 1.8 version of bahamut / hybrid / unreal / rat-box. As long as the ircd works and dosnt have memory leaks i'm again indifferent. I would prefer an IRC community which is active and is not stale too obviously.

Our dude hosting website/email/services went to upgrade mysql yesterday and during the process the box was messed up, so he had to re-kickstart the box today and has worked nonstop on trying to get things back online. His server returned today and everything else should return tommorow.

We have a nice site, and recently just got a webmaster to maintain it. I can send you our policy form if needed.

I apolagize for the website but its once incident we have had in a year with our webiste. The box recently had 300+ day uptime.

Nice, ZeNNeC Irc is always in search for Dedicated Servers for our large userbase.
Quote:

1. Server Technical Requirements: Each server must run the a version of the IRCd and Open Proxy Monitor that has been approved by a majority vote of the EB and Routing committee which contains several modifications essential for the ZeNNeC environment. Its machine must have a relatively low system load that will allow for the server. The machine must be stable enough to support the server 24hours a day, and the link to the Internet must be at least 1.5Mb/sec. The machine must be a dedicated server.

2. Linking to the ZeNNeC Network The following rules MUST be followed before a server is linked to the ZeNNeC network:
The server owner MUST fill out the routing app located at http://www.ZeNNeC.com/linkapp.php and complete it with truthful information. All information in the link application will be verified.
Upon successful approval to link to the ZeNNeC network, the owner must allow a routing administrator to install and configure the IRCd and Open Proxy Monitor that has been approved by a majority vote of the EB and Routing committee.

The server will be test linked for a minimum of 1 week and must have less then 2 five minute splits during the test link period. Extended outages during the test link will result in the server being permanently being de-linked.

The server will only be allowed to have 1 Server Admin for the duration of the test link which is usually 14 days. Upon acceptance into the ZeNNeC network the server admin will be allowed to choose 1 Server Co-Admin and 1 Global Operator.

New links from members, who are currently in the test link period, will require a new link application for that server, which will be reviewed as normal by our routing staff.

New links related to current server admins at ZeNNeC may be handled on a case by case basis.

Applicant is to have fully authorized use of the server being considered. If your server has been "carded" or otherwise fraudulently acquired, we DO NOT want it here. DO NOT APPLY if this is the case.

3. De-linking a ZeNNeC Server The following are reasons for possible removal of a server from the ZeNNeC network:
If a server is not connected more than 75% of a 30 day period.
Failure to update the ircd files in a timely manner.
If the admin loses access to the server, and its files.
The admin(s) of the server abandon it.

Failure to follow orders to remove an IRCop who is breaking rules.
If the server/admin in any way becomes a considerable detriment to the network performance, stability or operation, and reasonable measures to correct the situation are not taken. 4. Financial Disclaimer You hold harmless all those involved in ZeNNeC, including but not limited to, its server admins, hub admins and users. ZeNNeC its server admins, opers and users will not be held responsible for any financial loss incurred by you prior to, during, and/or after the link process.

we do not have our new site up and running at the moment but leave me a msg on irc.zennec.com and leave the message with Alliance1911 or ZeNNeC
