On the networks page i have noteiced that not all the MOTD's get listed unless the sirc bot has been to that server on the bobin yet on our network useing Unreal(3.2.3) the motd on eche server can be called up in turn useing the command
/motd <server name here>
e.g.
you connect to: irc.somemadeupserver.com
then you get that servers motd on connect
then use /links to get the list of servers
/motd irc.someotherserveronthenetwork.com
and get the motd for the 2nd server wile still being connected to the 1st server
i have tryed this on my network and found it works fine for opers and users etc.
do you think the sirc bot can be set to do this?
let me know what you think?
Thanks Tom |

| it already does this, but it doesn't randomly check, so it tends to hit one that doesn't give a reply (like a services) and stops. I haven't put much time into it since some networks start banning if i do repeated motds, and others don't issue normal motds remotely (undernet's ircu). So if I start to grab and store remote motds like that, we end up with the short versions instead of the normal ones. |
