On the images section, your pages update every 60 seconds...

What you should do is, everytime your 'bot' sees an image in a topic, its added to a list, so basicly, you can use that to count how many times its mentioned on all the topics, and so, the best images can be listed at the top...

You could also do a similar thing to urls, which would be nice.

First off, I'm not sure if the amount of times a graphic is mentioned in channel topics has any correlation to the quality of the image. In fact, I think the exact opposite would be true -- as I've seen the disturbing images listed more than the benign ones.

One thing I am strongly considering is storing the names of the images that are viewed (clicked on to enlarge), and how many times they've been clicked. That would allow me to have a page with the "top" viewed graphics of the week. IMO this would represent images that have value more than a simple count of how many times they appear in the database.
