Nothing new at all, everything online has come down in price around that much.

I remember when it would cost $120 just to get online with a domain registration - now its just $5.95 at (discount) places

Moderator's note: I suspect this is simply unintentional spam, but the idea is a good topic, so I'm leaving it.

This sure looks like spam to me!

Network Solutions was the original NIC for domains. And they didn't charge $120.

I don't know of a single company that charged $120!

Then you should stay away from them. $5 is common place.

Heh, well even my own ISP charges $30 CDN per year for domain registration (not including DNS or anything, you have to set the nameservers, or pay an extra $18 per month for DNS/hosting). I'll certainly have to agree with katsclaw here, because the more expensive they are, doesn't make them any better. My own ISP has more downtimes than my 200mhz machine, rendering them useless for anything. Things are always more expensive in Canada. I've seen domains online for $3 USD from one company, and they even have cheap DNS hosting packages.

My first domain was bought when the price dropped. It was $150.

My first domain: Free. From the now de-funct DomainZero

My first priced domain: $9.95 I believe, from Registerfly.

How times have changed? Smile
