When I am on SearchIRC, some of the pages have a wierd scrolling bug.. Like, for example. reading a forum thread.. Near the bottom, when you scroll, it moves slowly and looks jumpy.. then it moves fine once you scroll back up.. It does this in a few areas of SIRC..
I'm using Mozilla Firefox with a 1ghz AMD Athlon processor, Linux 2.6.7 (it did it on winbloze too) and 256mb RAM..
Any ideas why it does this? Is this noticed by anyone else? |

I don't see any problems, but I tend to use msie most of the time.
I have firefox, netscape, opera, etc installed, but load them up just for development purposes. |

for example, on this page, it starts doing its jumpy scrolling when i get to the light blue bar at the bottom of the page that says 'Display posts from previous' or something like that.. It scrolls wierdly while thats on the screen when i scroll up and its no longer on the screen, it scrolls fine..
Oh, and when it starts scrolling, the 'Featured Network' picture on the left jumps out of its frame while i scroll, if i scroll down, it moves up.. like the picture is lagging.. But when i move away from the blue bar at the bottom, it doesnt have a problem |

I've very rarely noticed scrolling bugs with mozilla. They're not consistent enough to reproduce and they only happen once in a blue moon though. I've not had any since I last upgraded my copy to the most recent version.
Upgrade to the latest version, and if you can document it, send it to the moz dev team? |

Hmmm... You're right. I didnt notice it until you said as this is a pretty fast PC, but whenever I am near that blue box for featured network, and scroll (JUst scrolling all the way up and all the way down the page) when it reaches that box, the content moves out of the box, and the scrolling slows down. Strange.
This ocurs most with the please visit box on the front page: http://searchirc.com/

Yeah, I just realized as well that the featured network box does scroll out of sync with the rest of the page.. it's happening right now on this page, too.
Mozilla 1.7 on 350MHz PC (Not the fastest thing but the rest of the page always scrolls smoothly.) |
