You can't.
This would allow users to then look for exploitable versions and mess up networks. |

Jason, really this is a load of bull. What's to stop someone creating a bot similar to scrawl, connect it to all the networks and catch the 005 numeric?

Most networks are all too eager to give their address out.
Then, I suppose a /map or /links to get attached servers... or even just remote /versions...
This is all theoretical, naturally. I have never actually done any of this. |

If Jason says he's not going to list nets by IRCd type ... then it's not getting done.
This topic has surfaced more than a few times ... several Netadmins like myself have expressed a dislike for the idea and to date it has not been done. In fact, if this was ever done .. I'd pull my listing off SIRC. |
