|
|
On the Network Pages of Searchirc,
How about making a page that list the Staff of that Network, This could be updated buy the Person that has access to that networks information to update the staff list as needed.
The Page could be something like this
Network Admin : Admin A -Email Contact AdminA@mail.com
Server Admin : Server A -Email Contact
Then a Network Map, of how the Structure of the Network Is lated out
Hub 1
| | |_ Server A
| | |_Server B
| |
| Hub2
| |_Server C
| |_Server D
|
|_Services
If you like I could make a better Example of how we could make it work.
it wouldnt be that hard cus scraw woulnt have to update any information, Since it would be done ether buy the Person Submitting the Network into Searchirc or the Person Assign to update the info On The Network.
This could give users a little more info if they get k-lined or killed on how to get ahold of someone on the network, since some network dont have Websites or Dont have the recouces to have a website.
The Second Part Of the Idea Would take a little Ingnutiy to design the map
idea, but would be cool additon to the Servers/MOTD Page.
Theses are just some ideas on how to enhance SearchIRC's Network Pages. Some of The Ideas Presented here today might be not be able to be done or just would not be very usefull to do, but what the hay its just and Idea.
Sincerly

whoever has access to modify a network's info can already do that by just creating a section in the blurb section that lists network staff.
As far as the map, scrawl already generates a map from /links. I don't put much faith or effort into doing any more than it does currently due to the number of networks who think they get security from disabling /links |

The network map already depects the network about as well as can be expected, and in the commonly used format that /map displays.
Check here for an example;
