#8 ranked IRC network, mIRC-X has closed down according to www.mircx.com.
As you can see from this graph, mIRC-X was a pretty large IRC network, peaking around 24,000 users.
We wish the users and operators of that network good luck in their future endeavors. |

Ouch, thats 24k people looking for a new place at once.
DDos strikes again-I hope the announcement page is true, and the law does nail the responsible party. This is getting to be really old, people can't even run a network for internet users anymore without someone messing with it.
I hope the website stays up, its a good script resource. |

Yeah, well its too bad. You get large and all you get is a bullseye painted on your backside for your trouble.
Something definetely needs to be done about this c**p, or we won't have any networks left eventually. |

Yes, it is a shame, and you're right - there will be 24,000 people looking for new homes - and likely looking for each other, too. So at the risk of being redundant, let me post this again:
If you are looking for friends or channels, feel free to post a message in the MIRC-X forum on SearchIRC - http://searchirc.com/network-forum/mIRC-X
Anyone can read the messages, but you must be a registered user to post. If you aren't yet registered, click on Register at the top of this page. |

Yeah, luckily you guys are here to help people out. I bet your bandwidth consumption will go up for a few days
I'm just hoping I see a headline on the news tommorrow that the person who did this attack is being led into a nice permenant home-a grey cell. Least then the only electronic device he'll have is the lightbulb hanging from the ceiling.
I can, however, also see some other IRC admins rubbing their hands together with glee-trying to get these users that are now displaced. Its a shame, but I know its going to happen.
Just remember-you can go after them, but the bigger you get, the bigger the target gets on your backside too, it seems.
Be safe out there. |

In order to keep the Mirc-X network forum free from spam, I just opened a new thread for networks that welcome former Mirc-X channels, and channel owners looking to find a new home.
Feel free to promote your network and its services on http://searchirc.com/boards/viewtopic.php?p=5021#5021
Networks, we do apprecate your generous offers to accomodate Mirc-X channels, but posting on the Mirc-X forums is going to interfere with users trying to locate each other. Please cooperate and make this easy on everyone. :) Thanks |
