Okay, I jsut reread this (http://www.mircx.com/irc.html) for the sixth time and in my head it says that it's shutting down forever. I'm kinda panicking here, since I was talking to a couple of guys that I have no idea how I could get a hold of if mIRC-X dies. I know, I'll live on but can one of you guys read it through and see if it says that in your mind too?
Getting freaky |

Posted before I checked the URL mentioned. Deleted my post (doh!)
Lets hope these ddos'rs get nailed to a wall. People can't even run a network for people to use anymore. |

I know that I haven't been using Mirc-X until recently but I have it to be very much useful especially when I since I was looking for Gundam Wing Episodes. Anyway, I think that Fserves don't really care too much about the people downloading from them but anyway, I'm trying to look for the places that these chat-rooms and fserves have gone to.
If you're there, the people I'm looking for (from Anime-Legion) is Anime-Boi, S0nicfreak, Lisg and Kjocean. If anybody could help me out, i would appreciate it very much. Thanks. |

Well, they may be the next target of the attackers if this is true. But who knows, nobody knows if the attackers had a personal vendetta against mirc-x, or are just out to wreak havoc on whoever.
Whoever they are, they need to be nailed to a wall quickly lest more networks have to pull the plug due to ISPs just deciding that hosting IRC networks is too risky and they decide not to support them anymore. |

Well word is that mirc-x had banned this guy's botnet and he decided to DDos mirc-x as a form of revenge.
Ive heard alot of people saying this so maybe this could be the reason. |

In order to keep the Mirc-X network forum free from spam, I just opened a new thread for networks that welcome former Mirc-X channels, and channel owners looking to find a new home.
Feel free to promote your network and its services on http://searchirc.com/boards/viewtopic.php?p=5021#5021
Networks, we do apprecate your generous offers to accomodate Mirc-X channels, but posting on the Mirc-X forums is going to interfere with users trying to locate each other. Please cooperate and make this easy on everyone. :) Thanks |

Lovely. The feeding frensy has begun.
Not surprising though, there are plenty who like to take advantage of a situation. Now that there is a proper section, I'll post myself, but not with any rosy promises for them-I'm sure there will be offers of IRCops and other things to 'entice' people. Oh well
But to whoever is hosting the botnet that supposedly caused all this: you should be ashamed for doing so. |

| I believe many channels are moving to QuakeNet (irc.quakenet.org). |

Not a chance.
Why would they do that? |

| They would benefit more if they moved to either DALnet or Webnet, since those two networks offer nickname and channel services for its users. At least you do not need to be friends with a bunch of IRC Ops to get a registered channel like on undernet. |

Most mIRC-X channels have moved to irc.rizon.net, I'm rather disappointed at that, but it seems there where most of them went. Most of the manga channels went to irchighway I think. Here is a better list of where the channels have moved to which I believe is correct, it has the most updates and has almost all the channels that have moved from mIRC-X. You can also find out where some channels went on the network forum for mIRC-X right here.

When was the last time you were there?? They no longer allow any type of sharing via DCC what-so-ever. Unless you ment the few channels on mIRC-X which didn't share or distribute files... |
