This is the solution to just about all problems with bots or any other kind of connection flooding, etc etc...
Step 1: Find a pattern
Step 2: Block it
There are usually patterns in nicknames, realnames, etc etc. Often they all even use the same realname. Block that. If it's a nickname, make a regex for it and Q:Line that.
If nothing works I would do what Bayou-Ru|er said and block connections on port 6667. Most IRC clients will try 6668 and 7000 if they can't connect on 6667, but the bots usually give up |
