Werd.
Just wondering, I've looked through a few ircds, and now i have a migrane. I'll tell you specifically what I want, and see if you come up with something, or if somebody knows where I can get what I'm after. *breath*.
I help run a shell company, and I've set up a support server on Unreal3.2 - not my favorite IRCd, bloated and annoying is how I'd put it - anyway, we specifically want it for the support server. I've seen in an IRCd, can't remember which one but I've seen it - that only IRC Operator's can create a channel.
Any help would be of use. Thx. |

create a channel as in register? Or create as in join that channel?
Although i see nothing wrong with Unreal 3.2 after a bit of modifying, you might want to try out Hybred IRCD, and use anope services. Im sure anope has a module that will do what your looking for.

| Jason hacked up ircu so only IRC operators can form a channel. Although you wouldn't want to use the whole thing (it is wayyy too restrictive for a normal IRC network) you should be able to pull that bit out to modify your own code - http://searchirc.com/searchirc-ircu.tar.gz |

conferenceroom has that ability to disable any user command as well as to restrict channel creation to one of either users, IRC ops, services admin, or server admins
I believe unreal does support this feature as well...
you will have to read documentation ;) |

Yes, I want explain my own situation. Im a developer, like network profesional Im very interested for Unrealircd 3.2 like a crossplatform environment. Of corse, we can find some version that are ircd. Unrealircd too but a lot of them don't have this facilties crossplatform.
About ircd is free a lot of time ago, it's part of the BSD systems and it's free from years.
Second point. When windows servers born, some people compile and sell comercial version, now atack this version. More near of the BSD standars, than other than use other names. And that can run pure services in standars ircu.
I supose that the people of the IRC world know who is who sometime ago.
Let the networks and the operating systems in the real operating system of today "internet", sure that the future will give their own selections.
