Just out of curiosity, what are the best ways to get users in a channel?

I recommend adding your channel to the Chat Directory - with a good desc:

Also make sure your channel topic contains good keywords so that people searching for topics that match your channel can find you.

Channel websites can also bring in users, use all the common SEO (Search Engine Optimization) techniques to make sure your website is on target and ranks well.
