Well you guys I’m started to write a new IRCd Admin Client for Unreal and Anope Services since most of the inexperienced Admins run that kind of combo. So since I really do like helping out networks and stuff like that I'm starting to make this client with all the commands built in to the popup menu and stuff. Which when I get done it will be available for downloading and criticizing it.
But I want to know what other stuff you would like to see on this client that might make you interested in downloading it and testing it out on your network, and if any one wants to beta test this when I get it ready for that part in time. Leave me your feed back. Thanks

| Hey there Anarchy. Its a tough project that you've decided to take on, but definitely doable. I wish you the best of luck on your project, and will offer help if needed. |

| Complete srvx popup menus for every option with popup boxes for various human-input fields. Maybe some of them into a dialog ... thats what I would like to see if someone wants to spend time on things - since no one can seem to make a good srvx addon (and I mean beyond AuthServ/ChanServ stuff....) |

| Srvx would be awesome too rather than just exclusively for Unreal / Anope.. |

ok a few cents worth:
1> Don't reinvent the wheel by writting yet another client, you'll have issues getting people to know about it let alone use it. Focus your time on writting scripts for existing clients, you don't have to convence people to switch clients.
2> Personally I think it's a waste of time because it'll still require people to read, which is the main problem with newer admins is they don't read anything! They'd rather go to IRC and ask in a support channel when the answer is directly infront of their face with /nickserv help and the supplied docs .. RTFM isn't one of the most popular sayings on accident you know.
3> Again, personally I think you should just let IRC die it's long and painful death as it has been over the last several years. I've watched this site for about 4 years now and the population of IRC has dwindled more than 500k users in that time. 1 new client is not going to save it.
4> If you choose to write your client, I wish you luck.

lol, don't take my opinion too harshly Afterall .. it is only an opinion .. hehe
Besides, lets say you did get this written and you become rich and famous. Do you really intend on releasing a new version everytime one of the ircds or services packages changes something? Think about that for just a second.
Additionaly, and kind of expanding on #1. If you just write scripts .. others can help and when something does change, only that sript needs to be changed. That's LOTS beter than recompiling and releasing. |
