|
|
I've been on irc for a while and tbh am used to the odd stalker... but this one is REALLY getting to me!
I'm a 'mature' (in the loosest possible terms ) female and my stalker is also 'mature' female -think thats part of the problem, and to tell you the honest truth... I DONT KNOW WHY SHE IS STALKING ME
She obviously knows about searchirc (not a surprise because I often used it as a link for newbies in channel to help them find places to chat) so.. she only turns up in channels I can be seen on using your /whois... which is why this isnt my usual nick... dont mean to deceivce you but, needs must!
I've tried quietly chatting, asking to stop - that got the worst response.... not chatting in channel once she joined - she just lurked.... threatening legal action for a rather nasty comment in a popular chat place - got the best response...
I did change nicks for a while then I thought .. why should I! I dont see what I've done wrong tbh and after 18months its really getting to me.
any advice? or should I just 'give up n go home' as they say
all advice/comments welcome |

Do you have the possibility to silence private messages from her? If she has to do her attacking in public channels, it will surely get the attention of ops in the channel?
If she keeps attacking you, it should be a good reason for them to ban her from the channel. |

I forgot to add: If you /mode yourself +i , you will be invisible for anyone who doesn't know your exact nick or is in the same channel as you. If you do /mode yourself +p , nobody can see which channels you are on unless they are in it themselves. If you go invisible like this, change your nick (maybe only with one letter!) and the ops hopefully ban her from the channel where she attacks you, it will be almost impossible for her to reach you. |

google = ignore private message on mirc
or look at a mirc called acidmax = http://www.tnexgen.com/scripts.php
with this you can block pm/dcc/whois/dccchat/ctcp
i think by not replying to her/him/it ,will pis(*) them off , |

thanks all for your time and your suggestions, all appreciated.
Most I've already tried, and I gave up any sort of contact a long time ago but it doesnt stop her, and her methods are far too insideous for any op to be able to help me with.
Guess I really knew my only option was new nick and leave what I know behind, grasping at straws maybe!
I hope I will bump into some of you on irc someday, always knew it was a good place at heart
Thanks all |
