I agree with PingBad. Although I don't care if a network has warez or not, I refuse to oper on a network that does support them. Those networks don't offer much for conversation, in my opinion.

The thing is, most of you may see nothing wrong with file sharing as a recipient downloading it.. But, take a look at it as if you were in the other side's shoes. If you were one who buys everything, surely you'd feel that you have to pay while everyone else just gets it free on the internet. Next, lets say you decide one day that you're going to develop a computer game, or sing a song. It may look easy to you as the user, but to develop computer games is very very time consuming and a lot of hard work, more so than starting an IRC Network. Singing a song is also a lot of hard work, with having to redo the songs so many times just to get it perfect.

Okay, so you develop a computer game or sing a song and you're trying to sell it to be able to feed yourself every day, or support your family. If you put all that time and work into something like that, trying to sell it, only to find that nobody is buying it, but rather illegally downloading it on the internet, surely you would be upset and think its wrong.

If you still want to do file sharing, and feel its ok, then good luck. This reply is only meant to give some insight as to how it would feel if you were on the side of being the author or buyer of such work that is being pirated.

Sure, I download mp3s illegally at first, but I do make them legal in very little time.. If I like the song and want to keep it, I do end up going out and buying the cd to support it and the artist. If I don't like it, or don't want it, or don't plan on buying it, I delete it. In fact, mp3's is a bit different, as its not but a few pennies (figure of speech) for a song, and concerts is where artists actually make their money, they don't make it off of album sales unless they're one of the lucky American Idols who end up selling 3-4 million copies of their very first album. As for other stuff, they have no other way of selling their product, because you can't sing a video game or perform it at a concert..
