PieNet is a hobby project by and for swedish mac users. The idea is to create an IRC-network for typical mac users that is run and controlled in a democratic fashion. Anyone who wishes to connect their mac to the network as an IRC server node can do so. However, to chat, all you need to do is to connect to any of the servers.

The network started on february 25th, 2008 with three servers. As of today, there are a total of eight servers connected, some in server racks and others on ordinary ISP connections. Most of the servers are on 10-100 Mbit connections.

As of now, all servers are in Sweden except one, "Classic". This server is located in California and is provided for any citizens of the American Empire who want to chime in. Of course, most of the users on the network are swedes, but swedes are actually good at english.

We offer a news bot providing news feeds from mac rumor sites to all channels.

To join in, connect to irc.pienet.org Wink
