- Jason has a life outside of SearchIRC (iirc, he once stated he works for Verizon)
- On another (recently posted, I might add) topic, he has made the statement that he is sick - thus wouldn't really be up for doing much www related, but probably beer and potato chips on the couch watching his fav game.
- If Jase were to remove/add those networks to the network category - who's to say that those same networks won't undo jason's doing, and back to square 1

yeah yeah we all have a life outside irc.. u see him answering everywhere but not to this topic..
and these networks i stated barely know about searchirc or did submit maybe once and never are around again.
hence, its important for us net admins to know what is what and where is where.. so there is nothing wrong in giving a hand categorizing a bit |

to take your scenario ("and these admins i stated barely know about searchirc or did submit once and never are around again."), somebody on their representative list must have added them there for a reason. Maybe they identify with the region, they have a userbase (majority/minority) comprised of the region, or have a geographical prescense there (in terms of an IRCd being hosted out of that area).
There's no quickfire way of ever knowing just at a glance if the networks listed there belong there. It's an unmoderated network category anyway (much like the rest with the exception of a "Commercial" network). |

Yes, we have lives and they are usually busy, but that's irrelevant. The site is up, the bots are running, the data is collected, and people are connecting to IRC. Sometimes sh*t happens, or administrative tasks overwhelm us, but we keep plugging away until we catch up.
We all look at things from our own perspective. Jason considers SIRC as a whole. He's not the type to argue the merits of an idea. If he likes it, he'll implement it. If he doesn't, he won't.
Jason saw your thread - he commented on it. But ultimately its up to the network itself to decide the nature of its own userbase. |
