''Multiple high-level sources told Fox News they were certain that the former Iraqi leader was captured in a raid designed to net him in his hometown of Tikrit. He was said to be much thinner than his last known appearance and he had a long, white beard, sources said.''
''Iraqi Governing Council member Ahmed Chalabi said ousted Iraqi president Saddam Hussein was on Sunday "captured without any resistance," and would be tried in public, according to Iraqi television.''
"He was arrested without resistance and there was enough time for him before that to commit suicide if he wanted but he did not," Chalabi told Iraqi TV, adding that he had no further details.
''The former Iraqi president was found in a "spider hole" underground, about two to two-and-a-half meters (six to eight feet) deep with a ventilation pipe to enable him to breathe. The hole was camouflaged with bricks and dirt.''

| One can only hope that he will face the same fate as former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic, who is standing trial before an international tribunal in The Hague to answer for his regime. |
