You must be wanting something unique from the network if you can't find a network amongst the 4400+ in existance.
IMHO, for best results, pick a good size network from the existing list and set-up you own channel and advertise it in the channels topic. DALnet for example, it has a potential client base of 30,000 users and any time. I'm sure alot of people use the /list command.
I'm also curious as to what happened to you. You stopped by my network, we talked about setting up a relay bot between networks for you to maximize your exposure. You seemed rather excited and never returned.I really hope you didn't think we was going to do all the labor and you get all the users. |

We've been having a lot of problems with finding the right IRC network. The biggest issue we've run into is that, people say they want Dark Rose Radio as a part of their network, yet when we join them, no one listens to the station and just adds us so they can increase their users.
Another issue we've run into, is that IRC channels want us to have our own room on their server. Most of the time when we do that, we don't have anyone who comes into our room and we just sit there all by ourselves which is pointless.
We're looking for an IRC Channel that is interested in having an internet radio station as a part of their community who are going to actually listen to what we play, be active with requests, and not just have us there to increase their user amount. We're a variety station, we play a wide range of music in hopes we'll be able to suit everyone's listening style.
We've been a part of a disabled chat room for awhile now, and people don't seem to really want us in there. So, again we're still searching. |

darkrose, your problem may be your expectations from IRC networks. If you are looking for a network to supply users and interest in your channel, you will be disappointed. That's not usually their function.
The majority of IRC networks look for channels with an established userbase to fill the network, not vice versa.
That's not to say you won't find plenty of offers to set up on a network and then they will help with users. There are many eager admins who would love to have an active channel such as yours. But realistically, your goal should be growing your own userbase rather than trying to find a network to do it for you. |
