I'm trying to run GameServ 1.3.4 everything is set right in the config file and loads up on the shell screen Config file loaded ok...
Turning into a daemon
But doesnt do anything after this point. You look in the gameserv.log and it shows the problem [03/25/2007 12:01:50]: Error opening data/items/masteritems.dat
[03/25/2007 12:01:50]: Error loading items
Me and my shell provider have tried different ways but still cant figure out why it wont open this file. any ideas and help on this issue would be very grateful. |

| is the file permissions set right? does the file exist? and is the file in the dir it says it is? |

| yes the file exists and its in the dir as it says it is which i cant understand why it wont open it i've even tried itemdata /home/user/gameserv-1.3.4/data/items/masteritems.dat still nothing i've also done svn update in the dir and still not opening that file. I've also tried vi data/items/masteritems.dat and nano data/items/masteritems.dat and still the same issue. |

| sounds like a permission problem? check that its read/write about by group and owner |

| you can check for your self on the files, "man ls" would be a useful command to run. |

ok seems to be nothing wrong with it but still doing the samething so if anyone has a working version pack it up and send it to me so i can look further into this thing thanx  |

After about a month working on gameserv irc services error problem it has now been fixed thanx for the support and suggestions that where made.  |

| well i was opening it str8 from source so windows mucked up the format so ./gameserv couldnt read it me and my shell provider worked on it and finally found out that i wasnt editing the config in pico/nano and vi but a few configs do run when edited in windows but not all. gameserv/defender have to be done in pico, nano and vi you cant edit config in windows as this mucks up the format. I think alot of people forget this when editing config files on linux. |

| Do you know what the problems where cause its best if they send a email to the maker of GameServ so he can fix such errors but he has made a svn subversion fix and u do have to delete a .cpp and a .h and do a svn update again then edit config in pico , nano or vi |
