Slacknet IRC is not a new IRC network, but it's never been announced on anything like this so I figured I'd go ahead and do that. It currently only has one IRCd, but its uptime is 158 days. Anyone interested in linking please contact me on the network (all information at bottom of the post).
It runs Hybrid 7 with HybServ2 services. We have had offers to link to other networks but they wanted us to switch to Unreal, and I think the world has seen enough of Unreal and Anope -- and/or use their silly network name like "liquid-dreamspace" or something to that effect.
The policies and concept is to make councils of server administrators and operators, that way the network is democratically ran with no real centralized authority, other than the services. Also all servers can wield their own authority and name as long as it's within the base rules of the entire network.
The network was started by people who love IRC and that spirit continues to this day.
