Myself:
Let me tell you a bit about myself, my name is Ryan (Sentry22 on IRC) and I'm 28 years old and have roughly 12 years of administrative expirence on various levels and various networks/mediums (MUDs, IRC, etc).

I don't have my own website, but I am in the process of making my own chat (graphical medium) as a project, more for craps and giggles than anything else, and to try my hand at growing a project from the beginning to the end. It should be a good expirence, but I do know this project will take me about a year and a half to complete, so I am in no rush. I have no project right now and am bored out of my mind, hence this posting.

I am a very self motivating and aggressive individual, who also gets bored easily. I like to be kept busy and I love to be around people, I love to meet different people and learn new things.
EXPERIENCE

IRC - I've visited many networks in the past twelve years, but how I have learned what I do know about IRC has come from several areas: Ripping apart IRCds (at least C/C++ ones) on my own time, Oping (Channel and Network), and poking around on networks where I've received the OK to do so.

RL - This is more about my attitudes as to why I'd make a successful operator, or why I believe I do. I have served as a retail manager from age twenty to now (I am a part time Manager now), it has been the building block for me to learn patience, working under pressure, forming solutions to problems and dealing with, for lack of a better term, jerks and assholes. I am very patient with people and I am a good listener, I may not be able to make a solution favorable to them, but I will do my best and try and solve the problem. I also do not stop until the problem or job is done, I do not believe in giving up, and if I have to, I hand the problem off to a superior as necessary, which I hate to do, because I like to finish it myself. My current career is elsewhere, we can talk about that at any time if anyone so desires. But in my current career, I deal with lots of problems and often, not very nice people. I am known at where I work for my patience and ability to handle upset people, I am also known for my respect of others.

Web Stuff: I excel at HTML and CSS, I am semi-ok with PHP, as I am still trying to learn it, but I think I could pick it up quickly if someone wanted to show me, as I picked C++ up fairly quickly. Never really played with SQL, but I am open to learning. I do not own my own website and my work has been largely wiped due to a hard drive issue. But I will make what you want to your specs, and I have a full software suite to assist in this task.

Previous jobs:
- MSN SysOp
- StarChat Helper
- X9 Guide + SysOp Manager
- Note: These are the ones I can remember, being old means I forget things Wink

I also have expirence moderating web forums of all types, so I can handle that arena as well. Most of the expirence I have in administration is in text based games (Called MUDs), but I do have previous IRC expirence, as listed above.

What I am looking for:
I am looking for a fairly well developed network ran by a dedicated group of folks, that also are fun to work with. I also want the network to be professionally ran, messing around is fine, but they should not be insulting users and so forth.

What I am not looking for:
Network's ran by an immature founder and staff, I am not going to babysit my fellow Operators. I do not want to work for a founder/senior staff who does not listen to logic. If your network $#$@!@# is an operator, I don't want to deal with it (am currently dealing with this situation and it is not fun), I do understand humor, but when a fellow Op calls you a Bitch and is being serious about it, that is unacceptable, also, a founder/senior staff who will not act when given proof of serious misbehavior by an Op will not do much for me (person who called me a "Bitch" and interveined on my help call, as described above, was not disciplined at all). If I am promoted to whatever position, I expect to keep it unless A, I screw up or B, someone better is found, and I do not believe in promoting of people that do not act like they should (more is expected of a member of the Net's leadership than your regular oper). This not my whining, this is just me saying what I do not want to see and deal with as far as my fellow Opers go, but I do have a very intact and working sense of humor and I love to have fun, but there is a line and it should not be crossed. We are all adults for the most part, people should know the lines.

I also want the network to be professionally ran, messing around is fine, but they should not be insulting users and so forth. I am looking for a network with a mature and smart founder, someone who is logical and will listen to ideas for change and gives a damn about their network and their staff, and treat their staff with respect and dignity. I'm also looking for a full Operator position (Please no Locop training periods, not being able to do stuff in a situation will frustrate me), I'd also like Services Operator access to start, and eventually, within a month or two (So you know I'm trustworthy), Services Admin access, since well, thats what I have now and would like to start in the same position or better on a new network.

I would like the network to have at least 100 or so users on regularly, the more the better. I hate being bored.

DF, not to attack you personally and all, but can you not plug your network onto other people's threads advertising their own network

I am not advertising any network, I am looking for one. I am definately in need of a new network. My O:Line on the network I did work for has been removed due to this posting. So well, I need a new home, heh.

I will do that. I will be home in around 6.5 hours (9:30 pm), but I will take a look at your network when I get home and will be available to speak with you at that time.

I can't offer you a place on my server (which is currently linked to another network), but I am thinking about joining a few friends in starting a whole new network / project.

What are you like with IRCu?
