Bahamut -does- have SVSMODE. You can "Squelch" a user (Bahamut's style of /shun). |

Hybrid has the /capture command which is basically shun, and it has sajoin and sapart as well (all three are "extra" modules, but distributed with the ircd.) |

There should be more admins like you kat
[EDIT: What would be a good server hierachy? I have one concept in mind, but an opinion from an experienced such of yourself would be valuable] |

Thanks.
To be honest, Server staff really have so few options. Such as Server Admin, Co-Admin, Global, locop. Even those are ircd dependant. Some could argue Services Admin, but technically that's a network position more than an server position. Some IRCd's only offer 1 level .. ircop. IMHO, a server heirarchy would be pointless. |

To clarify, I was more inclining towards the network structure in terms of routing.
I find Services Admin to be a rather misleading concept as far as O:Lines go since it is the services themselves that decreeds one's access to them. A server admin is probably better described as a Deputy Network Admin, imo |

Services Admin specification must be in the ircd since it's the ircd that handles modes .. not services .. so in order to get umode +a an oper flag must be assigned.
Yes it's misleading, but required none the less  |

General Council:
It's basically a two tier system, the top one is made up of the server owners, under that are server administrators.
So basically:
Server Owner
Server Administrator
IRC Operator
That's basically it. The server owners are basically the over all decision makers as far as policy and such on the network goes. The server administrators do have say in it, but the IRC ops are basically just that, IRC ops. |

That way you can have people that link, and have voice but dont have a vote. |

| I would be inclined to think that the Server Owners in his case are all the Net Admins basically. Or at least people that are all very highly trusted, instead of just accepting links from anyone. But that's my hope, not sure if it's correct or not. |

"Correct" is in the eye of the beholder. Removing "network staff" as a title and giving control of the net's focus to the server admins really isn't much different than Camelot and Knights of the Round Table. A single person can "own" all the DNS stuff, email, web, domain .. etc .. but that finacial burden can still be outweighed by the expense of owning an IRC server. Especially if the net in question doesn't accept shell accounts. Also lets take into account of who has more to lose financially in the event of a DDoS attack. So handing the control of the net to the server owners is not a bad call .. nor is it politicly incorrect. |

My Network is worked out oddly. My network consists of a Website Community, IRC Community, Radio Community, and a Development Team.
For IRC we have it Lined up like this:
- Network Directors: Owners of the network:
2 NetAdmin
- IRC Lead: In charge of all IRC Related things:
1 NetAdmin
- Development Team: They Develop Our Services and IRCd:
1 NetAdmin(Lead Dev), 1 Services Admin for Each Additional Dev Member
- Services Admins: Run each Server on the network.
1 Services Admin for each server.
- Server Admin: Help maintain and administrate each server.
Up to 2 Per Server.
- Global Oper: Police of the Network.
Current there is no limit per server. This status is granted to anyone who we feel would be a good mature oper. and would help in the positive development of the network.
On top of that, i also have A Lead Radio Admin, Lead Site Admin, and Lead Dev Admin. None of them except for the dev admin have IRC powers though.
