Top 10 Channels & Ranking

Has anyone else noticed that the Top 10 Channels list and network ranking take weeks to update?

You mean the top 5 channels on the network pages on the left?

If so that is not real time data, its an average of the number of users and is updated every few days

The data is updated immediately when list is downloaded. The average counts are calculated once a day.

If your channel is seen 5000 times over the last 2 months, and you suddenly get 10 more users than normal, you can be sure that the sudden increase will not be reflected immediately.

The problem with such a system is that if we monitor a channel for 3 years, and it has grown from 5 users to 500 users in the last 2 weeks, the count will be off by a large margin. This is why the channel counters are reset every few months (Based on how many times the channel has been seen).

A whois bot is automatically added when a network hits N number of users. What that number is, I don't know off the top of my head. I'd assume it's pretty significant, 10k? 15k? Something like that.
