As a non-irc related discussion (altho, it is in a way related). With all your typing peeps, how do your keyboards survive?
I'm curious though, in the last 12 months, how many keyboards have died at your fingertips? With these multi-parapgraphed postings that I've seen lately (nothing short of essays, IMO) -- I wouldn't be surprised if there are casualties of typing.
I admit though, I've gone through about 5 keyboards with my typing (programming included) |

One mans trash is anothers treasure. QWERTY kb's have their use, especially for those that don't need/use AZERTY keys.
Not sure what the point of this poll/thread is, after all the more kb's you break the more you buy. That's not really a fact that I would be proud of honestly. I use my keyboard as much as anyone else and mine last years (usually get replaced when the letters on the keys wear off). Perhaps it's that I don't bang on it nor store drinks near it, who knows.
My kb lasts longer than my PC's plus since I custom build PC's I don't meet any of the options in the poll. |

I still have my first keyboard as a spare.
BUT
I decided to buy myself a new wireless kb and mouse, so off i went and i managed to find a pink one got it home and it words fine for the few few days, then started to bugger up intermittently, missing letters and what not. Anyways, i tend not to keep reciepts so i just went and got another, and the same thing started to happen.
This is my forth wireless kb and mouse set (optical mouse) and i finally figured out it only does it when i use my cell phone near it |

hehe
well, i got like my 4th or 5th one now, but only because most of my old ones got thrown away / sold with their corresponding computers, not because they were broken...
the one i actually type with is also ~3 years old and no problems so far, even since i do play some games every now and then and also dont hesitate to really hit it hard with my fist when someone gives me the 123234th headshot in a row
imho, its all about quality.. you get what you pay for
i for one almost always used cherry-keyboards [1] and never regreted it, maybe paying some extra money and going without gimmicks like fancy illumination and whatnot.

| I still have the same one from a few years back. I don't eat or drink around my computer so that might have something to do with it. I still have the one from around 6 or 7 years ago too, not sure if it fully works though. |

Personally - i've gone through 3.
One didn't survive me cleaning it
One got soup spilt alllll over it, and randomly started swapping keys around (:/)
The third just gradually died over time (it was my first keyboard, and still used the pre-ps2 connecter RIP!).
I wanna try a dvorak keyboard :p |
