Should we ban "EFNET #newswire" Since his posts are spam and annoying?

stop using my channel name in your posts, you should read the rules carefully, but hey if it means more people end up going to my channel as a result of your posting then thanks

I'm sure everyone can see his posts for what they are: spam, plain and simple. He has a website that redirects to nowhere, probably just to feed that counter on the index page. Then he can later say "look we have X number of hits". I'm sure we'll get the "it's under construction" excuse, I don't advertise my sites unless they are fully functional.

When I originally created my username for this site I considered using the network name since it was available at the time but after thought dedided to use my nick instead so I can be responsible for my own postings and not hide behind a network name. I'm just part of a network staff, not the entire staff.

Bottomline here is that he has a 38 user channel (on a good day) that he's trying to grow with the assistance of Searchirc and no telling what other places he's posting. Acky went to shit because of unchecked posts, I'm sure that won't happen here.

I have to say, when i say his name in a post topic, they remove it, BUT they let him stay here and post spam.... Thats just a shame.

I guess i`ll stop posting and do a quiet boycott until he is removed.

I love searchirc.com but will not participate in their forums util that time.

Cya everyone.

One bad egg can ruin it for all,

its not that serious. no one is saying "omfg this guy's channel must be awesome judging by his spam let me go there now!"

hes getting attention, but its negative. the crowd that reads these forums arent, for the most part, the average user who clicks on every link he sees. they see the spam and avoid it like the plague.

so there really isnt a problem.
