Hey I connected to global with mirc and I ran xdcc catcher for the first time. Apparently even running it on your computer without connecting to the server will get you banned. Funny thing was I just tried it out.
I dont see anywhere on the modt that says "you will be banned for running xdcc catcher on your computer." I have deleted it and I thought I would be unbanned but I guess that is not the case. How come you get black listed for just having the program running on your computer?
And is it possible to get unbanned?
(User has been banned from GlobalIRC (Infected with: XDCCCatcher )
Thx for the time. |

you may of uninstalled it but most users dont get fully get rid of it. several places you could check is
C:\documents and settings\username\application data - and look around there for either xdcc or the name of the company that made it. then just delete it.
C:\program files - do the same here as above.
also if your running mIRC then im guessing that xdcc has probally changed some of the stuff in your mIRC folder to help you out with running it. you may want to reload some of the stuff if you can find anything.
ive never used the program so i dont know were it puts itself. |

| if you got banned for running an XDCC bot or catcher the ban wont be lifted by removing it from your pc, it depends for how long the ban was set, you might want to contact the network staff about this issue instead of trying to evade bans which can lead to a bigger ban, look around the site of the network there should be info concerning your issue, usually an email address like kline@somenetwork.com or admin@blahblahnlah |
