It depends on what you mean by "attack".
Network services will prevent users from taking channels or nicknames that do not belong to them. If there are no such services, then there is no offence.
If you mean that someone has used DoS attacks and hacked into a computer that does not belong to them in order to do harm, then you are talking about a far more serious situation. DoS attacks and hacking are cause for termination by ISPs and uplinks, and could possibly justify legal action.
If you are attacked, make sure you document everything with time and datestamped logs and screenshots, from multiple sources/witnesses if possible, and contact the appropriate authorities. |

None of the Networks hacked. Bascily guess the password lol. See there admin looked into NickServ and got my pass and e-mail so I had everything riding on that pass, was my fault indeed.
Although now the admin has control over my email he changed the pass and info on it, can you help me there? and how to stop eveything? |

I misread... you said he "guessed" your password. Well, duh.
I don't know how your services are set up, but you (or someone) should have shell access to them. Ditto your network email. Whoever has administrator access to the programs can change the passwords to something NO ONE can guess. Use a scrambled, random looking combination of letters, numbers and symbols, but not in a haxor dictionary word (ie, don't use 1337). Write it on something you won't lose - like your bedroom wall.
The way to end it is - Stop. Don't retaliate, don't do anything back. You took over some channels, you got slapped. Keep it going and you may end up posting updates from the library. |

Actually by posting this, it just tells users that these 2 networks might not exactly be too secure |

If they were secure, how was a nickname password grabbed and a nick taken over along with a bunch of channels? Was this same password used on shells which servers reside on? If thats the case, then the servers themselves could be compromised, right? You may think I'm insulting your network, but I'm not, I'm just asking about the security of it-using 'simple' passwords for network essential services and channels isn't a good idea.....right?
And I'm sorry, but 2 networks at "war" isn't mature. If I was a user and found this out, I would believe my channel would be subjected to problems and the network would probably have issues due to "war". I would be concerned that the network(s) wouldn't be involved due to the current "war".
Doesn't sound very mature in either case..... Someone guesses a password and you attack them for it? I mean, if I'm reading this wrong tell me-but you're the one that said you guys are at war. Thats not a mature response-a mature response would be to beef up password security, not attack another network because they guessed a password.....
But maybe I'm wrong? |

Let's see, 118 users on Watnet, 142 on MyNapster. Sounds more like a skirmish than a war.

1 user or 100,000-network passwords or passwords that grant access to shells where servers are need to be secure, not something easily guessed. At least in my opinion
And even with that few users, I'm sure the shell providers aren't happy with the floods going on-and neither are any other people with shells sharing that same line. Not mature at all, by any means, at least in my opinion. |

I see 124 global, and only about 45 in channels. So either there is a +s channel, or a bunch of bots.
I don't see 160, maybe that was earlier. |

Lots of people claim to have so many users on their networks but turns out to be drones/proxies or even server bots... I agree 100% with the underlined part..[/u] |
