Hi Thomas,
I assume you are referring to the java chat client. Java chat
is quite simple, and limited. You cannot copy text. Its really
for the first time user or someone who wants to briefly visit
a channel. The reason we use it is because anyone with a
java enabled computer can access IRC without downloading
a third party IRC client, or exposing themselves to the dangers
of downloading files from an unknown source.
Because the java client is so limited, we've added a nifty little
feature. See the irc:// before the name of each channel in our
listings? If you have mIRC, Klient, or any other irc:// compliant
IRC program installed on your computer, clicking on that little
irc:// will open your personal client rather than the java client.
Click on irc://, mIRC opens, and you're in the channel... and
you can scroll, copy text, use your regular popups and scripts,
etc... and of course, mark the channel for future return.

| garry, have you tried logging the channel in your IRC client, then copying to a WP program? Although Java chat is limited in this regard, most of the upper end traditional Unix, Windows and Mac IRC clients have a channel and message text logging feature. |

| just highlight the text you want to copy with the left mouse button (drag) and when you let go of the left button any text you have highlighted will be copied to the clipboard, then you can just paste into notepad/word e.t.c |
