| I haven't found a love on IRC, however I do have a friend who met her husband on IRC. She's from Oregon and he was in South Africa, and she actually travelled to South Africa to meet him and then when she came back to the US, he later came after her and proposed marriage. They're happily married and have two children. |

| I don't know. Seems like more often than not it dosen't seem to work out, but i suppose it is definently possible, some have done it and it's worked out great. |

i think so.
i know some, they both live in holland so it was easier for them, but they have already planned their future and they are madly in love.
they've decided to move to greece to get married in 3 years.
but i think alot of things can change in 3 years.. its slightly weird.
anyway, i haven't found love just some really good friends. |

Aww, that's nice to hear.
Personally, I can't imagine I'll find the love of my life on IRC, but it's a nice place to chat with friends. |

| Yeah, I think the same thing. Then again, I met someone who lived very close to me for quite a long time, and five years later, she's still a very good friend and hopefully more. I know there's some I consider very good friends of mine that I met thanks to the internet as well, and have known for quite some time as well. Stranger things have happened. |

I think people should seriously consider before they use absolute generalisations...
I know alot of women online. Mostly because I have issues getting on with men, at all, anywhere. About 1/1000 men I do -not- argue with. That leaves 999 out of every thousand, so you can see why I tend to talk to women. (I bet I've annoyed you already!)
However, if anything, I would categorize them as often too honest. Let me explain. I know the private lives of these women fairly intimately - far more intimately than someone thousands of miles away really should, in my book. I'm glad they trust me, and I'm glad I'm apparently trustworthy, but I'm also somewhat concerned at the fact that someone who seems trustworthy is automatically trusted to a degree that you can be on IRC. While there are the fair share of lies, these tend to be on very specific subjects, and don't really matter much when you think about it:
1. Age (matters if they're under 18 - doesn't if they're not, not really);
2. Body image (who gives a damn anyway?)
3. Facial beauty (and who really believes someone who SAYS they're beautiful?)
4. Confidentiality
Of those... I'd only really say no.4 is ever actually critical. And only a few times have people I've known on IRC (and when I say people I mean people of the female persuasion) have actually betrayed confidentiality.
I'd seriously question "all women on IRC are liars". |

| Eh, I found my fiancee on IRC we met up after two years and have been together for three afterwards, it can work out. Because really you are able to find out everything you can about that person, before you even meet them. Then you have great communication skills |
