| might be interested in having you come aboard oh-snap (hey its an awesome name!) if youre interested. we're running unreal 3.1.6 with epona services. 3 total opers including me for about 10-15 users at any given time. its hosted on my own dedicated machine (we just moved it to a faster datacenter). bottom line: you wont find a whole lot faster on a shell around here! shoot me a pm if youre interested or drop by the server to talk to me. |

You could also check out irc.secureirc.org
We run NoLimit with epona services and our ircd does not use that much bandwidth like the others do.
Worth a shot, try us.
But I think everybody is looking for links. |

Dilex Net is looking for servers (kinda). If interested, come to irc.dilexnet.net #linking
We're a small network, but are growing (We've topped ~44 users. This number does not include services or the 6 eggdrops/chanbots we have on our network -- And yes yes, I do know what SearchIRC has us as in usercount).
Usual rules apply on our net:
No warez/illegal stuff |

Do not come to my network.
Not to be insulting, but now that you have the ircd shell, I would suggest next learning how IRCd works, how to set it up, etc. Get some knowledge behind yourself before linking somewhere. Probably too late
If you link now you don't know anything, the network you link to will simply appreciate the extra server, and you won't learn much, probably. I hope however you do learn some....
Either way, take the time to learn things and how to do them right, read the IRCd documentation, etc. Understand what running a server is, don't just do it because you think it will make you cool. An Oline is nice, but knowing how the software gives it to you and how your server interacts with users and other servers is knowledge you really need to know to run a server solidly.
Please |

Absolutely. Listen to U. I would not recommend linking anywhere until you are fully capable of configuring an ircd, services, and any anemities yourself. Find a buddy or friend who is knowledgeable about this stuff and won't take advantage of you, who will show you the ropes. (I'm available!...no one? *sits back down*)
Anyway, the best thing to do is to just read the documentation, follow instructions, and just go through the process of configuring files. Get used to doing that, and then when you think you're ready to make a decision about linking, you'll be appreciated as a valued member of the staff, rather than as someone who is just financing bandwidth. |

If you're willing to do that, thats great.
The only reason I wouldn't is because I have a 17 server network to manage, and that takes plenty of time, where I wouldn't have the time to sit down and train them correctly (which is a few hours minimum).
Definetely read up on everything before linking. And make sure you can trust where you link-any network can setup the ircd for you, but to do so they will need access to your shell, and someone who is dishonest could also take your shell and do dishonest things on it-and it would be your fault since the shell is in your name.
Be careful, and know what you're getting into before you get into it, is all I'm saying |
