"Looking" to find a mate on IRC? well then... you are sick...
Finding a mate on irc is possible, but you shouldn't look for one. What really sucks is when u start the "love" thing in a public channel. First of all, it annoys other people. Secondly, while "cute_babe" types "AHhH.. im spreading my legs right now" that could be some idiot-maniac who is probably laughing at you. Grrr.. my opinion, dont start "love" on internet. You might get fooled!

I met my current girlfriend on the internet. Just so you know, none of that happened between us online. The online stuff was the icebreaker, the 'get to know you' portion of the relationship. When we decided to go beyond that, we went into RL.

Not every 'online relationship' is cybersex. And the people looking for that, I'm sorry, but thats not even a relationship. Its like calling a phone sex line or getting a hooker, not looking for love.

What i meant was.. you shouldn't look for a mate on IRC! If you find a close friend who later on becomes your gf or wife, it's ok but to search for a mate on internet is wrong. :)
However some people find gf on irc.

I have a nice boyfriend that i met on IRC.. and i was never there in the first place for one. After i was on mIRC for a month or so i met a guy. we were starting to become close friends.. then one day we just kinda hitched up. Now i aint the type of girl who's looking for cybersex or sex at all im not the desperate type like some ppl are.. ive been with this guy for over a year now and we have plans on meeting.. none of us knows when we'll be able to meet.. but we will!! I also know some1 else who met online and got engaged. Online relationships can happen.. if u just know where to look.. or even if ur not looking; like me.

I found my fiancee on my server, believe it or not. She is a 32 yr old travel agent from the Philippines. She was surfing IRC networks at work and stumbled into my server. She can into the channel that I was in and we just hit it off. I am going to visit her shortly after the holidays and then we can start her immigration visa paperwork. She is 32, and has a 4 year degree in education. Her english is excellent. She is one of the warmest, most charming women that I have ever met. I will keep you guys updated on this.

IRC is kinda like blind dating. There's always a risk that you find a person who.. yeah, the rest is left to your imagination. But then again, a blind date can lead to a beautiful romance.

So it is possible to find a mate on IRC. Just like it is in real life.

Also, when you suddenly fall in love, you probably weren't looking for it. It just happened. I bet 8 out of 10 can say yes to that. I don't know what Moonman is on about, being all pessimistic about the idea (same with that donkey). Don't know if they got all tipped over by someone they were supposed to meet and what not.

I just want to say that I'm happily in love with someone I met on IRC, I didn't look for her, suddenly we just started talking and blink, she threw some cash together and we got to see each other. It's only been 6 months so far but we love each other. It might end with, this coming from my pessimistic side, that we just tell each other that it can't continue. But so is life, just like RL. Live with it.

You decide how far you want to go. Meeting pps online is cwel, going IRL is a next step, but faling in love tought the net with a guy/girl you never have seen or heared, that's kinda strange imho.

I'm a user of irc for like 3 years ,before 8 months I never believed on "love" stuff of irc.Tho before months I met a girl far away from my country ,we talked for few months and I found myself in love with her don't ask me how I don't know..I never felt for anyone like this before..So before 1 month I went to visit her..she was the same as she was online...smart ,lovely..beautiful..Infact all summer we will be together.I know I wanna be with her we are together for 6 months now..even if the distance is hard...(u see we are 14 hours non-stop with plane) I know we will make it.I agree tho in the part of weirdo's ..U never know untill u see ... have faith tho ;p
