its has been my experience, that on irc, when ytou get a bunch of users together talking, there are 4 prevalent topics that come up.
1: sex
2: bathroom duties(ie: poop)
3: food
4: drugs
in my experience that is the order i see it in too. i may just be a very strange indevidual, but on 7sinz, masturbation and poop seem to be very common. not to say we dont geek it out a lot and talk about computers most of the time, but when we are not talking about computers, and the such, we are talking about sex, poop, food, and drugs. not that we are sex maniacs, or scat-o-philes, or drug addicts, but hey its what ever comes up. just seems that conversatinos tend to that nature. my 0.02US$  |

| It's generally drugs for me but then again i do go on mainly drug relatred servers now so it makes sence. |

I dont think that is a good example of what is discussed on IRC in general.. Infact.. I think if those are the main 4 topics of conversation in your channel or network then you may want to go find a group of people maybe slightly more matture IMO. |

| haha, horizon. Each to their own, if they want to talk about that it's upto them.. If i want to talk about impirtant stuff i find somewhere i can.. It's all about what the subject for the channel or network is. |

I have to agree with you there lol, i was unable to vote, cause its conversation like these that make me me go AFK lol, i can't stand the bathroom talk, my stomach has gotten weak through the years. But Dimesion is correct, all has their own preference of what they find important, some may think that food is, and others find that going to the bathroom after eating to much food is fun.
I tend to get to grossed out from all of those options |

Although it does generally seem in "chat" orientated rooms to end up talk about sex and various other crap, very rarely anything worth the time you spend chatting comes out fo it but it's a laugh so chat about what ya want. |

My users must seem dead boring to you - when we're not talking php stuff, we're talking pc parts or webhosts prices hehe..
Doesn't ever talk drugs, funny enough - it's not that I don't do a bonghead every now and then (au contraire) 
You should do some extra features to attract traffic - irc is sooo cool, there's always online help to find for everything pc-related. Just look at freenode, it roxx totally. |

Don't flame.. its counter-productive. 
We once had an issue with number 1 in our main network channel at ChatSpike, it got to the point where someone would come in for help, and be molested (then would run away) :p
Our solution was to slap a G-Rated sticker on the channel, and kick anyone who didn't keep to it. Conversation has improved, help is being given, we occasionally have political debates, as well as random convos about anything, eg. Music, religion, RL activites, etc :p.. Its made IRC a much nicer place to be |
