IRCImages.com has undergone major changes in the last two days.
- No longer provides 3rd party links to a ton of websites that have 404s or are extremely slow. I've made the site download the images and store the graphics locally.
- Due to the images being local, I am able to weed out the images that aren't images (viruses) and all the dead links the site used to have.
- Images are cached like SearchIRC channels - up to a week before being purged when no longer existing in the database.
- Thumbnails! You no longer need to download each full sized image.
- Report bad images link now lets you report and have removed any image that contains illegal content or is a dead link.
- Much faster site speed since it has it's own database and no longer has to search through the huge SearchIRC channel listing in real time.
Let me know what you think. |

| It now has a better sort order, and to the right of each image are details about the picture - filesize, dimensions, last seen and time added. |

I reset ircimages, it's starting over fresh....
The data directory had a billion files in one directory, so this time around they're going into 2 subdirs deep.
e.g;
/ircimages/9/b/9bf35e9396f6dbc02616b50d8adc1f16.jpg
instead of
/ircimages/9bf35e9396f6dbc02616b50d8adc1f16.jpg
I also found and fixed a bug that prevented the thumbnails from showing thumbnails (it was displaying the full sized image in thumbnail size). |
